Job Description
As a Technical Procurement Specialist at NOV, your primary role is to support various business lines in identifying, shortlisting, selecting, and acquiring suitable goods, services, or works from third-party vendors. Your responsibilities include:
- Working closely with operations teams to understand procurement requirements and request vendor quotes.
- Participating in the new vendor approval process.
- Capturing technical and commercial information to order goods in correct quantities.
- Coordinating with planning teams to gather service PO workscope and communicate delivery terms with vendors.
- Following up with vendors regarding procurement and updating production teams on delivery date changes.
- Identifying and resolving issues with vendors throughout the procurement process.
- Identifying procurement process improvement opportunities and implementing as directed.
- Liaising with the account payable department.
- Complying with local regulations, API, and ISO standard requirements.
- Participating in API and ISO audits and representing the NOV purchasing department.
- Developing strong relationships with key suppliers and measuring their performance based on cost, quality, delivery, and service level.
- Analyzing the market to identify opportunities to expand the vendor base.
- Visiting vendor locations to evaluate opportunities for diversifying the regional vendor base.
- Identifying cost reduction opportunities by comparing multiple sources based on time-studies.
- Coordinating with all shop departments to maintain knowledge of plant operations and equipment design.
In addition to these responsibilities, you will be expected to hold the following qualifications:
- A bachelors degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in procurement with knowledge of methods, procedures, and processes.
- CIPS Qualifications (Desirable).
- Experience with ERP system.
- Knowledge of ISO, API, ASTM Material Standards.
- Knowledge of Casting, Forging, Heat Treatment process, and raw material procurement.
- Knowledge of machining, Special coating & other manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of Inventory Management.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong communication skills in English (Both Verbal and Written).
- Strong time management and analytical skills.
