Software Engineer I (.NET Developer)

In this role as a Software Engineer I at Duck Creek, you will be responsible for designing, coding, and configuring solutions for moderate complexity Agile stories. Your key responsibilities will include: - Designing, coding, and configuring solutions for moderate complexity Agile stories with some guidance from senior software engineers. - Debugging and resolving moderate complexity software bugs or issues independently, identifying the root cause and providing fixes without collateral damage. - Writing automated unit and integration-level tests under your own direction. - Providing guidance and mentoring to more junior software engineers. - Following development standards and effectively demonstrating technical solutions to other software engineers in code reviews. - Assisting in making source code management decisions for one or more teams. - Performing source code management tasks without specific guidance required from other team members. - Performing other related duties and activities as required. To be successful in this role, you should have: Education and Work Experience: - Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Information Sciences, or a related field. - Total Work Experience: 6+ years in software development, with a minimum of 4 years. - Product Experience: Minimum 2 years, preferred 4+ years. - Domain Experience: Minimum 2 years, preferred 4+ years. Specialized Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities: - Expertise in Object-oriented design, Java or .NET development, Relational OLTP queries, and Relational database design. - Proficiency in XML/XSLT document design, JavaScript development, HTML5 & CSS. - Expertise in Duck Creek Policy, Billing, Claims, Engagement (AP), or Data Insights. - Ability to manage deadlines, communicate effectively in a team, and operate independently with guidance. - Understanding of estimating, analyzing, and the Software Product Development Lifecycle with Agile methodology. - Knowledge of the Insurance domain.
