Senior Frontend Engineer (React)

As a Senior Front-End Developer at Fermi, you will be part of a global AI-first EdTech startup dedicated to transforming the way students learn STEM subjects. Your role will involve working on a full-featured AI-powered learning platform that offers interactive canvas experiences, real-time AI tutoring, teacher dashboards, homework workflows, curriculum navigation, and cross-platform mobile apps. You will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on education by contributing to a product used by thousands of students and educators. **Key Responsibilities:** - Develop real-time AI tutor experience including live audio streaming, voice interaction, visual feedback, and WebSocket-powered sessions - Create interactive infinite canvas with drawing, equation detection, and spatial analysis - Build teacher and educator tools for homework assignment, student progress tracking, classroom management, and analytics dashboards - Design student journeys with onboarding flows, subject/topic navigation, question attempts, mock tests, and performance history - Develop cross-platform mobile apps for iOS & Android with native authentication - Implement complex state management using Redux slices for orchestrating various components - Set up notification system, role-based access control, and multi-tenant organization support - Optimize performance-critical systems such as low-latency audio worklets, debounced syncing, and rate-limited AI feedback **Qualifications Required:** - Minimum 5 years of professional front-end development experience - Deep expertise in React, TypeScript, and Next.js - Hands-on experience with real-time applications using WebSockets and Socket.IO - Strong skills in state management with Redux, Zustand, or equivalent - Experience in building complex, multi-role platforms like dashboards and data-rich UIs - Proficiency in writing tests for ensuring code quality - Familiarity with mobile-first design principles and touch interactions **Additional Details:** Founded by Peeyush Ranjan, a former Google VP & Flipkart CTO, Fermi offers you the opportunity to work at the forefront of AI and education.
