Job Description

As an Engineering Manager at Equifax, you will have the opportunity to lead a team of talented engineers and work on meaningful projects using cutting-edge technology. Your role will involve the following responsibilities:

  • **Team Leadership & Mentorship**:
  • Hire, coach, and guide engineers, providing performance feedback and fostering career growth.
  • **Technical Direction & Strategy**:
  • Oversee technical design, architecture, and best practices (e.g., Apex, Lightning Web Components) for scalability.
  • Demonstrate ultimate accountability for engineering delivery.
  • **Product Delivery**:
  • Manage the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), prioritize the backlog, and ensure timely, high-quality releases.
  • **Agile Management**:
  • Facilitate sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives.
  • **Cross-functional Collaboration**:
  • Partner with product managers, architects, and stakeholders to align technical goals with business needs.
  • **Quality & Compliance**:
  • Ensure compliance with data security, coding standards, and DevOps best practices (CI/CD).

Qualifications for this role include:

  • BS or MS degree in a STEM major or equivalent job experience.
  • 12+ years of experience in Salesforce software development, with 2-3+ years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Deep knowledge of the Salesforce platform, including Apex, Lightning components, SOQL, and declarative customization.
  • Experience in debugging, diagnosing, and troubleshooting complex production software.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and agile development environment.
  • Excellent communication, sharp analytical abilities, and proven design skills.
  • Detailed knowledge of modern software development lifecycles including CI/CD.
  • Ability to operate across a broad and complex business unit with multiple stakeholders.
  • Understanding of key aspects of finance related to Technology, including total cost of ownership and value.
  • Self-starter, highly motivated, with a passion for actively learning and researching new methods of work and technology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with team members at various levels, including business leaders.
  • Salesforce certifications: Platform Developer I, Admin, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Data Architecture & Management Designer OR Sharing AND Visibility Designer.

Additional qualifications that could set you apart include proficiency in AI tooling, Salesforce Certified Platform Developer II, Marketing Cloud, Experience Cloud, Agentforce Specialist, UI development (e.g., HTML, JavaScript, AngularJS, Angular4/5, Bootstrap), source code control management systems (e.g., SVN/Git, Subversion), build tools like Maven, design patterns, Agile environments (e.g., Scrum, XP), software development best practices such as TDD (e.g., JUnit), automated testing (e.g., Gauge, Cucumber, FitNesse), continuous integration (e.g., Jenkins, GoCD), cloud computing, SaaS, and Atlassian tooling (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket).
