Job Description
Retail sales assistants are the primary point of contact for customers, responsible for providing exceptional service, driving sales, and maintaining store standards. Key duties include greeting customers, assisting with product selection, processing payments via POS systems, managing inventory, restocking shelves, and keeping the sales floor clean and organized. Key Retail Sales Assistant Duties- Customer Service: Greeting customers, answering inquiries, providing product recommendations, and resolving complaints professionally.
- Sales & Transactions: Operating cash registers, processing cash/card payments, and handling returns or exchanges.
- Merchandising & Maintenance: Cleaning, organizing, and restocking shelves; creating attractive product displays (visual merchandising) .
- Inventory Control: Receiving new shipments, conducting stock checks, and reporting low stock or damages.
- Product Knowledge: Staying updated on product features, benefits, and current promotions to assist customers effectively.
