Java Lead Engineer

As a VP, Software Engineering at FICO, you will have the opportunity to design, develop, test, deploy, and support the capabilities of a large enterprise-level platform. You will be responsible for creating scalable microservices for high performance, high availability, interoperability, and reliability. Additionally, you will contribute designs and technical proof of concepts, adhere to standards and guidance from architecture team members, and collaborate with Senior engineers and Product Management to define technical acceptance criteria for epics and stories. Your role will also involve mentoring junior engineers, managing ambiguity and complexity, and proactively identifying and resolving issues. Furthermore, you will play a key role in quality, test automation, continuous integration and delivery, and production operation, while quickly addressing challenges and risks encountered during projects. Qualification Required: - Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or related disciplines - Minimum 6 years of experience in software development - Expertise in Java (Java 21 and above), Spring, Spring Boot, Maven/Gradle & Docker - Prior experience with GitHub, GitHub Actions, or Git-based source control - Experience in implementing RESTful and gRPC APIs - Proficiency in Cloud engineering areas like Kubernetes, AWS/Azure/GCP - Strong understanding of Microservices Architecture, Principles, and Patterns - Knowledge of databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Cassandra - Experience with Agile or Scaled Agile software development - Familiarity with data engineering services like Data Lakehouse, ETL, Data Pipelines, or Business Intelligence - Software design experience with a strong foundation in design models and database structures - Good documentation skills and exposure to Confluence - Experience in developing scalable, highly available, and high-performing Cloud applications - Ability to effectively communicate, present, and discuss designs with architects and teams About FICO: FICO is a leading global analytics software company that helps businesses in over 100 countries make better decisions.
