As the Head of Engineering at our company, you will play a crucial role in leading, building, and operating our innovative insuretech products with a passionate team. Your main responsibilities will include: - Supporting company vision and values, inspiring the team to achieve technical excellence, and delivery goals - Leading architectural decisions for backend systems, AI/ML integrations, and cloud-native applications at scale - Driving innovation through system design, algorithm optimization, and AI model deployment - Providing technical mentorship on DSA, system design patterns, Python best practices, and ML engineering principles - Managing deliverables, objectives, priorities, risks, and team performance - Delegating effectively and fostering creativity and ownership - Building a culture of continuous learning with a focus on technical depth in algorithms, architecture, and AI - Attracting, hiring, and developing top engineering talent specializing in backend, AI/ML, and full-stack development Your role will also involve: - Building & leading a team of talented Python backend engineers, AI/ML engineers, React developers, and QA engineers - Providing hands-on technical leadership in system design, data structures & algorithms, and architectural patterns for distributed systems - Leading design reviews focusing on scalability, performance optimization, and distributed system patterns - Championing AI/ML integration including model deployment, MLOps practices, and prompt engineering - Actively engaging with the team to provide technical guidance on complex backend challenges and system bottlenecks - Demonstrating problem-solving and technical innovation through hands-on coding and architecture reviews - Hiring, developing, and growing talent in the team - Mentoring and coaching engineers, ensuring adherence to Engineering practices and security coding guidelines - Managing engineers' career growth and aspirations Qualifications required for this role include: - BE / B Tech / MCA or equivalent - 10+ years hands-on experience in design & development of enterprise software - Proficiency in backend/infrastructure (Python, or any programming language) and cloud platforms (AWS) - Deep understanding of software design patterns, clean code practices, Data Structures & Algorithms, and System Design - Experience in development of cloud-based solutions and distributed systems - Minimum of 5 years of experience leading a software development team - Expertise in Python & React or any modern programming language and framework - Working experience with AWS Serverless architecture - Good understanding of security and best practices - Experience with Agile, TDD, test methodologies, and automation testing frameworks - Excellent written and oral communication skills - Ability to collaborate across multiple groups and disciplines, manage multiple tasks concurrently, and work with global engineering teams If you are a passionate technical leader with a proven track record in building large-scale data systems and enjoy mentoring others, then this role might be a perfect fit for you.
