Role Overview:
As a Senior Service Delivery Manager at our company, you will be based in Pune with a focus on managing service delivery operations for the Japan region. Your role will involve leading a team of 100-120 associates, including Project Managers, Technical Architects, Leads, and Team members. Your reporting line will be to the Director and/or Head of Delivery Unit in a matrix organization structure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize your minimum of 15+ years of IT experience to effectively manage mid-large scale projects in a multi-cultural/multi-national environment.
- Demonstrate a good understanding of Japanese business culture and bilingual capabilities, with a preferred Japanese Level of N2/N3.
- Showcase your negotiation skills and ability to handle pressure, ensuring timely project delivery based on priorities.
- Communicate effectively in English (Japanese preferred) and influence stakeholders at various levels, including VPs and Unit Heads.
- Lead recruitment efforts to build teams from scratch, while also handling escalations and minimizing impact during challenging situations.
- Leverage your technical background in application development to oversee team productivity and quality standards.
- Stay updated on new technologies such as AI and ML, and maintain a good understanding of financial reporting and contract margins.
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience managing projects in a similar capacity.
- Proficiency in OOPs (Java, .NET)/COBOL/Other programming languages, as well as knowledge of Windows/UNIX/LINUX.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to balance assertiveness and aggressiveness as needed.
- Familiarity with attrition risk planning, appraisals, and other HR-related processes.
