Job Description
You will be part of a team that builds the intelligence layer powering Microsoft's next-generation threat detection ecosystem. This includes Vortex, Threat Graph, Verdict Net, and campaign-correlation workflows. You will utilize deep applied science, graph-theoretic reasoning, large-scale machine learning, and multi-modal security analytics to identify hidden attack patterns across identity, endpoint, network, and cloud domains. Working within a multidisciplinary organization, you will design graph algorithms, develop ML models, operationalize security signals, and collaborate closely with detection engineering to implement research findings for customer protection. Your contributions will play a key role in advancing attack-path discovery, anomaly detection, graph construction, and threat-hunting experiences within Microsoft Security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, train, and deploy supervised/unsupervised ML models
- Build ML pipelines for operating on large-scale security telemetry
- Correlate signals across different security domains
- Utilize graph-native databases and query languages
- Collaborate with infrastructure teams to scale graph workloads
- Stay updated with academic research to apply novel techniques in security
- Conduct experimentation cycles to optimize detection performance
- Identify new attack patterns using clustering and probabilistic methods
- Integrate ML and graph intelligence into protection mechanisms
- Translate complex insights into actionable detection logic
Qualifications Required:
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in applied ML, data science, or security analytics
- Proficiency in graph algorithms, GNNs, and large-scale ML pipelines
- Deep knowledge of Python, PyTorch/TensorFlow, and data processing frameworks
- Experience with large-scale telemetry and distributed data systems
- Familiarity with query languages such as ADX/KQL and Spark
Please note that this position will be open for a minimum of 5 days, with ongoing applications accepted until the position is filled. Microsoft is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity in the workplace.
