Senior Analyst - Data Analytics

As a Senior Analyst - Data Analytics at American Express, you will be a part of the AIM (Analytics, Investment & Marketing Enablement) team responsible for enabling the Global Commercial Services portfolio. Your role will involve independently executing analytical workstreams to support prospect targeting and acquisition initiatives using advanced machine learning, predictive modeling, optimization, and emerging AI techniques. Key Responsibilities: - Translate business questions into structured analytical frameworks and identify appropriate statistical techniques and machine learning approaches to deliver high-impact solutions. - Design, build, and enhance advanced analytical models and GenAI-enabled data products to strengthen targeting and acquisition strategies. - Develop and validate scalable AI/ML solutions, including NLP and Generative AI applications where relevant, ensuring alignment with business objectives. - Apply strong quantitative judgment to evaluate data quality, refine features, and ensure analytical methods are aligned with best practices. - Collaborate with cross-functional partners to define analytical use cases, integrate solutions into workflows, and enable effective adoption. - Support experimentation and performance evaluation frameworks for analytical solutions, incorporating testing, monitoring, and continuous improvement. - Present analytical insights and model performance clearly to senior stakeholders and cross-functional partners. - Ensure adherence to established model governance and responsible AI guidelines. Qualifications Required: - Degree in a quantitative field preferred - such as Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Finance, or Economics. - 1+ years of experience in data science, advanced analytics, machine learning, or related roles. - Strong programming skills in Python and SQL, with knowledge of Hive and/or PySpark. - Hands-on experience developing machine learning models end-to-end. - Solid understanding of statistical techniques and practical experience applying machine learning algorithms. - Proactive mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving capability. - Ability to execute analytical tasks independently with high ownership. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with LLM-based applications and Generative AI frameworks is a strong plus. - Familiarity with modern ML and AI tooling ecosystems.
