Job Description
As a Research Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting multiple projects related to forest restoration, wildlife conservation, rewilding, and other initiatives. Your role will involve conducting literature reviews, managing research data, and synthesizing information to contribute to project objectives effectively. You will collaborate closely with the project team to ensure accurate data management and timely research inputs. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing research support for ecological, social, and community-based projects
- Assisting in implementing research methodologies and data collection plans
- Compiling and organizing project-level data, conducting literature reviews, and maintaining accurate records of project activities
- Organizing project documents, datasets, and reports systematically
- Supporting documentation of methodologies, SOPs, and project learnings
In addition, you will be involved in data management tasks such as data entry, cleaning, formatting, and conducting quality checks on incoming data. You will also assist with basic data summaries and analysis using tools like Excel and Google Sheets. Travel to project sites may be required based on project needs.
Qualifications Required:
- Masters degree in Environmental Science, Forestry, Ecology, Agricultural Sciences, or a related discipline
- 12 years of experience in research support, project coordination, or data management (fresh graduates with strong skills may also be considered)
- Familiarity with academic databases, citation management tools, GIS, and QGIS is desirable
- Proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets and digital data collection tools
- Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate effectively with diverse teams
