Job Description
Your role as a Software Development & Programming professional will involve the following key responsibilities:
- **Design & Development**:
- Develop, design, and implement automation software applications, including PLC programming, SCADA, HMI, and embedded systems programming.
- **Custom Automation Solutions**:
- Create custom solutions to automate processes, equipment control, and data management for industrial environments.
- **Programming Languages**:
- Write efficient, reliable code using languages such as C, C++, Python, Java, JavaScript, or specialized automation languages like Ladder Logic, Structured Text, or Function Block Diagram.
In the System Integration domain, your tasks will include:
- **Hardware and Software Integration**:
- Integrate automation software with hardware like robots, sensors, and controllers to ensure cohesive system performance.
- **Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration**:
- Collaborate with engineers, electricians, and technical specialists for seamless integration between software and physical devices.
- **Communication Protocols**:
- Implement and troubleshoot communication protocols such as Modbus, OPC, EtherCAT, or Profibus for reliable data exchange.
Your responsibilities in Troubleshooting & Debugging will encompass:
- **Problem Diagnosis**:
- Identify issues in automation systems and use debugging tools to resolve problems.
- **Root Cause Analysis**:
- Analyze issues during system integration or operation, and develop prevention strategies.
- **Software Debugging**:
- Debug complex code and automation programs to maintain system reliability.
When it comes to System Testing & Validation, you will:
- **Testing Automation Systems**:
- Develop and execute test plans to ensure automation systems meet performance, safety, and reliability standards.
- **Simulation**:
- Use simulation tools to identify potential issues before full deployment and monitor system performance post-deployment.
Your role will also involve Documentation & Reporting:
- **Technical Documentation**:
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for automation systems, including code, design specifications, troubleshooting guides, and maintenance procedures.
- **Reporting**:
- Provide regular updates on project progress, performance metrics, and system issues to managers or stakeholders.
Additionally, you will be responsible for Team Leadership & Management:
- **Team Supervision**:
- Lead and manage a team of software developers, engineers, or programmers.
- **Recruitment and Training**:
- Hire, train, and mentor team members to ensure professional growth and skill development.
In Process Improvement & Optimization, you will focus on:
- **System Optimization**:
- Continuously optimize automation systems for better performance and reliability, including upgrading legacy systems and introducing new technologies.
- **Efficiency Improvement**:
- Optimize software efficiency in terms of speed, memory usage, or energy consumption, especially in industrial settings.
As part of Research & Development (R&D), you will:
- **Innovative Solutions**:
- Investigate new automation technologies and incorporate them into existing systems to enhance performance.
- **Prototype Development**:
- Develop and test prototypes of new automation solutions in lab environments before full-scale implementation.
Safety & Compliance will be a key focus area:
- **Safety Standards**:
- Ensure automation systems comply with industry safety standards to safeguard operators and machinery.
- **Risk Assessment**:
- Conduct safety risk assessments to prevent accidents and develop fail-safe protocols.
- **Regulatory Compliance**:
