Role Overview:
As a Senior US Tax Preparer / Reviewer in the US Tax team, your role will involve preparing and reviewing complex US tax returns to ensure compliance with US tax regulations and maintain high-quality deliverables. You will play a crucial part in managing tax engagements, mentoring junior team members, and acting as a key connection between the internal tax team and US CPA firms or clients. Your strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple engagements in a deadline-driven environment will be essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review complex US federal and state tax returns like Forms 1040, 1065, 1120, and 1120S.
- Review work completed by junior preparers to guarantee accuracy, completeness, and compliance with US tax laws.
- Create and review supporting schedules, tax workpapers, and documentation.
- Identify tax adjustments, credits, deductions, and potential tax planning opportunities.
- Interpret and apply US tax laws, IRS regulations, and filing requirements.
- Conduct tax research on technical matters and document conclusions.
- Resolve complex tax issues and escalate matters to managers when necessary.
- Manage multiple tax engagements simultaneously while ensuring deadlines are met.
- Coordinate with managers and US counterparts on engagement requirements and deliverables.
- Guide and mentor junior tax preparers and reviewers to enhance team capability and quality.
- Identify opportunities to enhance workflow efficiency and documentation standards.
- Support the implementation of best practices in tax preparation and review processes.
Qualification Required:
- Bachelors degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance.
- CA / CA Inter / CPA / EA / CPA preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in US tax preparation and review.
- Strong experience working with US CPA firms or offshore tax preparation teams.
- Strong knowledge of US Individual and Business Taxation.
- Experience with Forms 1040, 1065, 1120, and 1120S, including multi-state filings.
- Familiarity with tax software such as CCH, ProSeries, UltraTax, Drake, or similar platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, especially during tax season. Role Overview:
