Java Engineering Manager

As an Engineering Manager at the company, your primary responsibility will be to lead a cross-functional team of engineers working on core trading ecosystems. You will manage a diverse team comprising Backend (Java), Frontend (React/Angular), Mobile (iOS/Android), and QA engineers. Your role will involve orchestrating the delivery of complex, low-latency trading solutions that serve diverse markets, ensuring the robustness, compliance, and scalability of multiple trading platforms. Key Responsibilities: - Team Leadership & People Management: - Lead a multidisciplinary team comprising Backend (Java), Frontend (React/Angular), Mobile (iOS/Android), and QA engineers. - Conduct regular 1:1s, facilitate career growth, and foster a culture of technical excellence and ownership. - Coordinate effectively with stakeholders and teams across different time zones and cultural contexts to ensure 24/7 operational stability. - Technical Delivery & Strategy: - Oversee the development and maintenance of integrations between various proprietary and third-party trading platforms. - Champion high standards for code quality, automated testing (QA), and release management tailored for a high-availability trading environment. - Collaborate with Staff Engineers and Architects to make scalable technical decisions supporting multiple business lines. - Operational Excellence: - Drive sprint planning, retro, and delivery timelines, ensuring transparency in a fast-paced environment. - Act as a point of escalation for critical production issues, leading root cause analysis and preventive measures. - Ensure all engineering outputs adhere to strict regulatory requirements of the countries in which the company operates. - Technical Leadership and Execution: - Provide hands-on technical leadership in containerized application development, big data processing, and distributed systems design. - Optimize and modernize SQL-based systems for seamless integration with cloud-native infrastructure. - Drive the adoption of CI/CD practices and container orchestration technologies like Kubernetes to streamline deployment processes. - Resolve complex engineering challenges and ensure adherence to best practices as a technical authority. Qualification Required: - 7 to 12 years of experience in Mastery of Java Framework in cloud-native development, containerization technologies (e.g., Docker), orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes, ECS), and experience in leadership roles managing diverse engineering teams.
