As an Infrastructure Engineer, your role involves ensuring that the assigned infrastructure at the client site is configured, installed, tested, and operational. You will be responsible for performing necessary checks, applying monitoring tools, and responding to alerts promptly. Identifying problems and errors before or when they occur, logging all incidents with the required level of detail, and assisting in analyzing, assigning, and escalating support calls are crucial aspects of your responsibilities. Moreover, investigating third line support calls, identifying root causes of incidents, and escalating issues to 3rd party vendors when necessary are key tasks. Your knowledge and attributes should include the ability to communicate and collaborate across different cultures and social groups effectively. Planning activities and projects in advance, maintaining a positive outlook at work, and thriving in a pressurized environment are essential traits. Additionally, being open to working hard and putting in extra hours when needed, applying active listening techniques, and adapting to changing circumstances are important skills for this role. In terms of technical skills, proficiency in various technologies such as Pulse Secure SSL VPN, Virtual Juniper, Palo Alto, Fortinet Firewalls, Cisco Nexus switches, ASr and ISr routers, and Cisco ACS, among others, is required. Familiarity with common network management and monitoring tools like SecureCRT and Logic Monitor is also beneficial. Your academic qualifications should include a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in IT/Computing, or demonstrated equivalent work experience. Possessing a CCNP or equivalent certification and certifications relevant to the services provided will be advantageous for this role. To be successful in this position, you should have experience primarily working with Cisco Wireless (L3) and Juniper Mist wireless (L2). Seasoned experience in an Engineering function within a medium to large ICT organization, Managed Services, ITIL processes, and working with vendors and 3rd parties is crucial for this role. Your role may also involve managing and implementing projects within the technology domain, delivering effectively per client requirements and timelines, as well as implementing disaster recovery functions and tests. Proactively identifying work optimization opportunities and automating tasks where possible are additional responsibilities you might undertake.
