Job Description
As the VP, Head of India Corporate, External and Internal Communication at Synchrony, your role involves setting and managing internal and external communications to support the global strategy and brand reputation of the company. Your key responsibilities include:
- Driving promotion and communication outreach for Synchrony Financial and its businesses to strengthen the brand among external audiences and support business growth.
- Developing proactive public relations programs and editorial calendars to engage and educate key stakeholders.
- Shaping clear and compelling messages, especially in innovation and technology, and developing storytelling campaigns.
- Owning reputation management and crisis communications structures, programs, and protocols as needed.
- Developing strong relationships with partners such as NASSCOM and AMCHAM and their subject matter experts.
You will also be responsible for:
- Leading, mentoring, and managing a team of communication professionals, as well as external PR and digital agencies.
- Developing key messages, press releases, presentations, thought leadership pieces, and other communication assets.
- Acting as the company spokesperson with the press.
- Orchestrating internal and external communications to ensure an aligned approach.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- 15+ years of experience in corporate communications, ideally within a technology company or global multinational.
- A Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication or a related field; an MBA or postgraduate degree is preferred.
- Exceptional writing, copywriting, and proofreading skills.
- Strong command of modern communication tools, including digital analytics, content strategy, and social media platforms.
Desired skills include:
- Understanding of reputation management and the ability to maintain transparency and build trust.
- Experience working with a US Global capability center is preferred.
- Ability to foster strong relationships with key executives and act as counsel in corporate PR matters.
- A self-starter with the ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and strong writing abilities.
Please note that you must be willing to relocate to Hyderabad for this role. The role requires collaboration during India and US business hour overlap windows to support leadership and stakeholder discussions.
