Job Description
As a Telecom Infrastructure Engineer with expertise in Mobile Network Operator (MNO) environments, your role will involve designing, deploying, maintaining, and optimizing telecom infrastructure to support mobile network services. Your deep technical knowledge across telecom infrastructure domains such as RAN, transmission, data centers, and core network connectivity will be crucial.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain telecom infrastructure for mobile network operations.
- Support deployment and integration of infrastructure for 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G mobile networks.
- Plan and manage infrastructure for RAN sites, including power, fiber connectivity, cabinets, shelters, and cooling systems.
- Coordinate with network planning, RF engineering, and core network teams for network rollouts and upgrades.
- Manage site infrastructure like towers, shelters, power systems, and backhaul connectivity.
- Oversee installation and commissioning of telecom equipment following industry standards and safety regulations.
- Monitor infrastructure performance, ensuring high availability and minimal service disruptions.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure-related faults impacting network performance.
- Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and field teams during network projects.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Maintain accurate documentation for infrastructure assets, site configurations, and deployment standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in telecom infrastructure engineering within an MNO environment.
- Strong knowledge of mobile network technologies like 2G/3G/4G/LTE/5G.
- Hands-on experience with telecom site infrastructure, including towers, shelters, power systems, and cooling.
- Experience with transmission networks such as fiber and microwave backhaul.
- Familiarity with telecom standards and best practices.
- Experience working with major telecom vendors like Ericsson, Nokia, Huawei, ZTE.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple infrastructure projects and work with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in large-scale MNO network rollouts or modernization projects.
- Knowledge of data center infrastructure supporting telecom networks.
- Understanding of IP networking and transport technologies like MPLS, Ethernet, DWDM.
- Project management experience in telecom infrastructure deployments.
