Job Description
As a Technical Artist at our company, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between creative design and technical implementation. Your main responsibilities will involve leveraging your artistic and technical skills to troubleshoot and optimize assets in the fields of 2D & 3D GUI, animations, and visual effects. You will work closely with designers and developers to ensure the creative vision is translated effectively into a technical environment, focusing on products like Instrument Clusters, Head-Up Displays, and Infotainment systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and optimize UI Design projects in defined scene composers
- Maintain high visual quality and performance on target hardware through smart application of tools and skills
- Communicate independently with internal teams, external partners, and customers
- Collaborate closely with Technical Artists, UI Designers, and Graphic Engineers globally
- Assist UI designers with asset setup and customization to align with implementation strategy
- Develop performance-optimized shaders for materials, behavior, and animations using defined languages like GLSL
- Integrate pre-defined plug-ins, materials, and effects from VFX library
- Follow defined toolchains and processes, focusing on workflow improvements
- Establish and maintain effective partnerships with internal and customer UI Design groups
- Document best practices for future reference
Qualifications Required:
- 2-4 years of experience as a technical artist in gaming, user interface, or automotive industry
- Advanced skills in 3D modeling and 2D design tools such as 3Dsmax, Maya, Blender
- Proficiency in scene composers or gaming engines like Unity, Unreal Engine, Godot, KANZi, QT, CGI Studio, EB Guide, Altia, or similar tools
- Knowledge of Blender & Godot is advantageous
- Proficient in After Effects for motion graphics and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Experience with RIVE is advantageous
- Good understanding of 3D poly modeling, texturing, and animation
- Scripting skills in C# for custom behavior definition is a plus
