Job Description
As a Tax Preparer, you will play a key role in maintaining tax records, preparing tax returns, related schedules, and reports to ensure the corporation's compliance with international federal, state, and local tax laws. Your responsibilities will include:
- Demonstrating experience in handling US Corporate tax and proactively increasing tax knowledge through assignments and staying updated with current tax developments.
- Preparing and analyzing tax records and reports as necessary.
- Assisting in the preparation of US local, state, and federal corporate tax returns.
- Updating tax schedules and various reports on a monthly basis.
- Assisting with monthly account reconciliations, reviewing invoices for applicable taxes, and generating monthly journal entries.
- Researching tax theory and positions to apply them effectively.
- Collaborating with senior team members on special assignments.
- Monitoring and facilitating the renewal of the Company's domestic business licenses/registrations.
- Handling general departmental administrative matters.
- Performing any other duties as assigned.
In terms of knowledge and skills, you should possess:
- Basic accounting knowledge.
- Strong communication, analysis, and critical thinking skills.
- Attention to detail and diligence in follow-up.
- Professionalism, confidence, and the ability to communicate effectively at different organizational levels.
- Strong multitasking abilities, prioritization skills, and meeting tight deadlines.
- Good computer knowledge, especially in MS Excel and basic proficiency in other MS Office applications and web-based tools.
- Willingness to learn new software tools and be cross-trained on various projects within the tax segment.
- Proposing improvement possibilities to enhance work processes effectiveness and efficiency.
- Creating a supportive team environment.
- Exercising independent judgment and discretion when preparing tax returns.
- Identifying problems and exceptions accurately and promptly informing the local engagement team.
- Compliance with the company's Compliance Procedure.
Reporting Relationships:
- No direct reports.
- Supervisor: Tax Accounting Manager.
Experience & Education requirements include:
- B.Com/M.Com-Finance/Accounting.
- 6 months to 1 year of experience as an intern/apprenticeship in US Corporate Tax.
- Any certification on the CA articleship is an added advantage.
- Basic Knowledge on Tax.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment:
- Works in a standard office environment with controlled temperature and lighting conditions.
- Ability to work in US time zones.
Travel:
