Job Description
As a System Engineer Lead responsible for managing the India team, your role involves deep expertise in Linux systems and DevOps. You will collaborate closely with internal teams, business users, and external partners to ensure smooth and efficient application lifecycle management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support a group of system engineers, including 24x7 rotations, providing hands-on technical guidance and mentorship.
- Perform Linux system administration, including server setup, patching, performance tuning, and monitoring.
- Manage daily events and RCA report communications as a Site Reliability Engineer.
- Design, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines to support agile development and deployment practices.
- Proactively manage the teams workload in Jira, monitor progress, and ensure timely task completion.
- Drive Agile/Scrum practices by participating in and facilitating sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Maintain technical documentation including system configurations, procedures, and incident reports.
Required Qualifications:
- 9+ years of experience in Linux system administration (e.g., Ubuntu, RHEL, CentOS).
- Multiple years of proven experiences in technical leadership as a managerial role.
- Strong experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, CircleCI).
- Proficient in creating and managing tasks in Jira or similar platforms.
- Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, icinga, nagios, ELK stack).
- Proficient in at least one of the following scripting languages (Bash, Python).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams and leading team ceremonies.
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Ansible).
- Understanding of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
