Role Overview:
To meet the increasing demand in the nuclear industry, AtkinsRalis is seeking Piping Engineers Stress with 5-12 years of experience in piping systems and pressure vessel design to join the nuclear team at the Mumbai office. The role involves performing piping stress analysis, static and dynamic analysis of complex systems, preparing design guidelines, reviewing stress reports, and providing technical solutions for plant integrity issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strong understanding of piping stress analysis concepts and ability to perform stress and supports analysis of critical piping systems
- Conduct static and dynamic analysis of complex systems, including Time history and Response Spectrum analysis
- Perform calculations for PSV Reaction Forces, Steam Hammer, Hydraulic Forces, and 2 phase slug forces
- Determine wear pad requirements, trunnion calculations, and saddle support design
- Prepare Piping Stress Design Guideline based on project requirements
- Review and check Stress Reports, Equipment GAs, FRS & Seismic Anchor Movements, Stress Model Breakups & Critical Line List
- Coordinate with other discipline specialists and stakeholders on technical issues
- Provide engineering advice, prepare technical notes, and liaise with all stakeholders
- Calculate and select Spring hanger supports, Expansion joints, struts, and snubbers
- Prepare data sheets for special piping supports and provide support loads to structures team
- Work effectively as a team member, meeting quality work standards within deadlines
Qualifications Required:
- Suitable degree in Mechanical Engineering (ME/BE, M.Tech/B.Tech or equivalent)
- Experience in Nuclear, Power, Oil & Gas, or other highly regulated industrial environment
- Design experience in piping, pipe support, and pipe layout
- Proficiency in static, dynamic, and thermal stress analysis
- Familiarity with international design codes and standards (e.g., ASME, RCC-M, BS EN, API Standards)
- Experience with analysis software such as CAESARII, Autopipe, Pipestress, STAAD, Nozzle Pro
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation skills, and ability to write technical reports accurately
- Computer aptitude, expertise in MS Office, and experience in developing digital tools
