Staff Software Engineer, Vertex AI Search

Key Responsibilities: - Lead a team in building the next generation of Grounding on Web Search to meet customer needs on Vertex platforms - Design, implement, and maintain critical systems to scale and advance capabilities - Develop algorithms to enhance Large Language Models (LLMs) and improve Search ranking - Enhance model qualities for better grounded results - Build and train specialized models to elevate the quality of the grounding stack Qualifications Required: - Bachelors degree or equivalent practical experience - 8 years of experience in software development - 5 years of experience with Machine Learning (ML) design and infrastructure - Experience in Unix/Linux environments, distributed and parallel systems, networking, and architecting software systems - Masters degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field preferred - 3 years of technical leadership experience leading project teams and setting technical direction - Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence (AI) concepts and building AI applications - Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), including fine-tuning and agent-based systems - Understanding of the end-to-end lifecycle of AI-powered applications, from data ingestion to model serving and monitoring Role Overview: As a software engineer at Google Cloud, you will be contributing to the development of next-generation technologies that impact billions of users worldwide.
