Job Description
As a Staff Software Development Engineer (Full Stack) at Gruve, you will be responsible for playing a crucial role in operationalizing the GenAI-based code generation platform. Your tasks will involve translating product specifications into structured inputs for GenAI tools, reviewing the code generated by the tools, and providing feedback to the product engineering team to enhance the quality and performance of the GenAI tool.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, analyze, and structure product specifications for input into GenAI programming tools.
- Operate GenAI systems to generate code based on structured inputs.
- Perform detailed code reviews of GenAI-generated programs to ensure correctness, performance, and maintainability.
- Utilize other AI-powered code generation tools such as Cursor.ai, Windsurf, etc., to compare and optimize the GenAI tool.
- Provide feedback to enhance GenAI model outputs and engineering strategies.
- Review and validate generated code for correctness, efficiency, and adherence to coding standards.
- Maintain documentation of input formats, code review findings, and feedback cycles.
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in GenAI programming tools and code generation technologies.
- Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers.
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelors/masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 8 to 10 years of experience with expertise in TypeScript/JavaScript (Node.js, React, Next.js, Angular, Vue.js) or Python (Django, Flask, FastAPI/RestAPI).
- Hands-on experience in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable front-end and back-end applications using TypeScript/JavaScript/Python.
- Strong understanding of front-end technologies like HTML5, CSS3, Tailwind, Material UI or similar.
- Familiarity with GenAI tools and LLM-based code generation platforms (e.g., GitHub Copilot, CodeWhisperer, etc.).
- Experience with SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB) databases.
- Hands-on experience with Cursor.ai and/or Windsurf, along with other AI-assisted coding tools like GitHub Copilot, Tabnine, Codeium.
- Strong grasp of software development principles, code review practices, and software design principles (OOP, SOLID, microservices).
- Excellent problem-solving, debugging, collaboration, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
