Job Description
As a Staff Accountant I at CSG, you will be responsible for a variety of financial tasks to ensure accurate revenue recognition and efficient accounts receivable processes. Here is a breakdown of your key responsibilities:
- Revenue Recognition:
- Assist in ensuring accurate revenue recognition according to GAAP.
- Collaborate with project managers to align revenue recognition with project milestones and performance obligations.
- Maintain FIRC trackers and ensure compliance with export regularization norms.
- Ensure contract accounting policies are consistently applied in compliance with customer agreements.
- Monitor project utilization to ensure accurate invoicing aligned with contractual requirements.
- Accounts Receivable & Collections:
- Assist with AR processes including invoicing, collections, and reconciliations.
- Act as a Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for major accounts for timely collections.
- Conduct follow-ups with customers and directors to resolve outstanding receivables.
- Monitor AR turnover ratios and implement strategies to improve cash flow.
- Forecasting, Budgeting & MIS:
- Support forecasting and budgeting cycles.
- Prepare and present MIS reports on a monthly basis.
- Support cash statements and reconciliations.
- Ad Hoc Reporting & Analysis:
- Generate ad hoc reports for financial insights and decision-making.
- Analyze trends in aged debt, unidentified payments, and dispute resolution.
- Process Improvements & Automation:
- Identify and implement process improvements for accuracy and efficiency.
- Drive automation initiatives in AR and revenue processes.
- Cross-Functional Coordination:
- Work with project managers to ensure financial codes align with milestones.
- Partner with legal and compliance teams for contract validation and regulatory adherence.
Qualifications Required:
- B.Com or MBA with 1-2 years of experience in AR and revenue accounting.
- Understanding of financial reporting standards and statutory compliance.
- Proficiency in Oracle and Excel.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
