Software Engineer - Healthcare Research

Role Overview: As a Software Engineer at Barco Labs Healthcare Innovation team, you will be participating in various research projects, exploring the state-of-the-art and contributing to demonstrators and proof-of-concepts. Key Responsibilities: - Understand end-user, partner, and patient problems and provide innovative solutions - Implement first-of-a-kind prototypes and proof of concepts in collaboration with internal and external partners - Stay updated with new academic, international standardization, regulatory, and commercial developments in computer science, healthcare imaging, and visualization applications - Collaborate with peers, internal stakeholders, and external partners to develop and demonstrate innovative solutions to challenging problems Qualifications Required: - Master's degree in computer science or a closely related field - Strong background in software engineering in modern languages like Python, C/C++, TypeScript, etc. - Basic experience with cloud platforms like AWS - Hands-on experience with Linux platforms, Docker, embedded systems, etc. - Basic software engineering tooling and best practices like git, Github, CI/CD, Atlassian stack - Background/interest in AI and machine learning practices - Experience with image processing and hardware acceleration like GPUs - Creative mindset for building test setups/PoC with available equipment material - Prior knowledge of medical imaging and experience in medical device development context can be a plus - Pro-active team player with good communication skills Additional Details: Barco is a company that designs cutting-edge technology to enhance everyday life.
