Site Reliability Engineer III

As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) at McDonald's RealTime CDP, you will be responsible for ensuring the platform's availability, performance, scalability, and operational excellence across various services. Your role will involve working closely with Data Engineering, DevOps, Architecture, and Product teams to maintain a reliable and secure global customer data platform. **Key Responsibilities:** - **Reliability, Monitoring & Incident Management:** - Own reliability across Realtime CDP components - Focus on availability, latency, throughput, and error rate SLIs - **Observability & Performance Engineering:** - Configure and maintain monitoring, alerting, dashboards - Use industry tools like Grafana, Prometheus, New Relic, etc. - **Change, Deployment & Automation:** - Review and validate deployments via CI/CD pipelines - Implement canary, staged rollouts, and rollback strategies - **Platform Operations (GCP Focused):** - Operate and support cloud infrastructure across GCP services - Ensure platform readiness, high availability, cost optimization - **Cross Team Collaboration:** - Collaborate with Data Engineering squads - Work closely with Data Governance, Security, and Support teams **Qualifications Required:** - Strong experience with GCP services like Pub/Sub, Dataflow, GKE, etc. - Hands-on expertise with Realtime frameworks like Kafka, Flink, Spark Streaming - Proficiency with Python, Bash, YAML, and operational scripting - Experience configuring observability stacks like Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, GitOps, deployment automation - Understanding of SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, incident management protocols - Strong debugging skills across distributed systems, APIs, containerized services - Experience with capacity planning, performance tuning, load testing - 510 years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or Platform Engineering - 3+ years working with GCP or another major cloud provider - Experience supporting high volume, low latency Realtime systems - Familiarity with CDPs or Mar Tech ecosystems - Understanding of privacy, consent, and enterprise data compliance You will be a crucial part of the team ensuring the reliability and efficiency of the RealTime CDP platform, contributing to the global personalization and engagement initiatives at McDonald's.
