Job Description
As a Senior Leadership Technical Program Manager at Google, you will lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects leveraging your engineering expertise. Your role will involve planning requirements with internal customers and guiding projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks, and effectively communicating them to project stakeholders. You will be expected to explain your team's analyses and recommendations to executives, as well as engage in discussions regarding technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.
Your extensive technical and leadership expertise will be crucial in managing various Engineering-specific programs and teams within Google. Specifically, you will be focusing on building the most accurate, comprehensive, and useful maps for users through products like Maps, Earth, Street View, Google Maps Platform, and more. The Geo team plays a vital role in enabling developers to leverage Google Maps platforms to enhance their apps and websites. With over a billion people relying on Maps services monthly, your contributions will directly impact how users explore the world and navigate their daily lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Devise, direct, and deliver a portfolio of strategic programs in collaboration with global teams to establish scalable technical capabilities supporting Geos priorities, with a specific emphasis on the User-Generated Content (UGC) ecosystem.
- Manage and mentor a team of Technical Program Managers to achieve strategic project goals for UGC and scaled capabilities aimed at enhancing and sustaining the UGC moderation ecosystem.
- Identify transformational opportunities for blending human and machine intelligence across technical development and maintenance projects to drive productivity and meet product objectives.
- Conceptualize and execute experiments and proofs of concept to validate product ideas, as well as develop and test experimental solutions from an automation perspective.
- Utilize technical knowledge and data-driven insights to proactively address and resolve Geos most intricate projects and challenges.
Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience in technical program management.
- 7 years of experience in leadership role(s) with or without direct reports.
Preferred qualifications:
- 10 years of experience managing cross-functional/team projects.
- 5 years of experience in Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
- Experience leading the development of global technical capabilities in a matrixed environment, operating at an executive management level.
