Job Description
As a Senior Security Engineer / Threat Hunter at F5, you will be part of a high-impact team that utilizes cutting-edge security technologies to protect F5s enterprise and product environments. Your role will involve leading threat hunting engagements, guiding team members in threat hunting and digital forensics practices, performing proactive threat hunting and forensics across various platforms, and collaborating with other teams to implement security standards. You will also automate manual processes, advise stakeholders on secure design principles, and stay updated on emerging threats and industry trends.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Lead threat hunting engagements for the Global Cyber Security Detections and Investigations team.
- Guide team members in threat hunting and digital forensics practices.
- Perform proactive threat hunting and host/cloud forensics.
- Conduct technical security assessments and automate manual processes.
- Collaborate with other teams to implement security standards and controls.
- Utilize security tooling to detect, investigate, and contain threats.
- Advise stakeholders on secure design principles and security best practices.
- Maintain and improve security runbooks and documentation.
- Stay current on emerging threats, CVEs, attacker TTPs, and industry trends.
- Follow F5 information security policies and protect information assets.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

**Required Skills & Experience:**
- 8+ years in cybersecurity with hands-on experience in threat hunting, digital forensics, and incident response.
- Proven experience in designing and executing hypothesis-driven threat hunts.
- Strong experience with SIEM and NG-SIEM platforms, SOAR, and EDR/XDR tools.
- Deep understanding of MITRE ATT&CK and threat actor TTPs.
- Proficiency in scripting or utilizing automation tools.
- Hands-on experience with cloud security and infrastructure as code.
- Solid grasp of UNIX/Linux systems, networking protocols, and firewall architecture.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Certifications such as GCIH, GCFR, GCFA, or equivalent SANS DFIR/threat hunting training.
- Experience with ServiceNow, ADO, or similar ticketing/case management systems.
- Familiarity with container orchestration and CI/CD pipelines.
- Exposure to FedRAMP, eDiscovery, and DLP casework.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers and analysts.
- Ability to drive strategic long-term initiatives with cross-org leaders.
- Ability to effectively present technical investigations and recommendations to executive leadership.
