Job Description
As an Emergency Medicine Physician, your role will involve the following responsibilities:
- Conduct initial patient assessments, triage, and diagnoses for a wide range of illnesses and injuries.
- Administer necessary medications and treatments to stabilize critical patients.
- Perform emergency procedures and manage resuscitations.
- Provide ongoing care and follow-up for admitted patients.
You will also be responsible for:
- Supervising and mentoring junior doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Leading the clinical team, providing guidance and clinical governance for the department.
- Contributing to the educational and professional development of all staff.
Additionally, you will participate in:
- Departmental audits, quality improvement projects, and the development of evidence-based practices.
- Ensuring accurate and thorough documentation of patient care and medical history.
- Integrating with other hospital departments to provide seamless emergency care.
Your role will also involve contributing to:
- Planning and implementing major incident protocols.
- Participating in disaster response planning and drills to ensure readiness.
In terms of communication, you are expected to:
- Effectively communicate with patients and their families, explaining diagnoses and treatment plans.
- Collaborate with specialists and consultants for complex cases.
