As a senior R&D leader for the India-based Display R&D and New Product Development team, your role will be crucial in driving the technical vision and operational execution of next-generation display technologies. You will be leading a team of 812 engineers, guiding sustained development, product roadmap, advanced research, and ensuring a smooth transition from early prototypes to high-performance products. **Key Responsibilities:** - **Leadership & Strategy** - Lead and mentor the India R&D team to foster innovation, technical rigor, and execution discipline. - Define and execute the R&D roadmap aligned with global technology and product strategies. - Provide thought leadership on future technology directions. - **Technical & Product Development** - Drive applied research to enhance emerging display technologies. - Optimize key performance parameters like brightness, contrast, resolution, color accuracy, and power efficiency. - Oversee the transition of technologies from lab prototypes to manufacturable products. - Offer expert guidance on troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges. - **R&D Operations** - Establish and manage robust lab operations, development processes, and quality control systems. - Coordinate with global teams to ensure design scalability and manufacturability. - Develop partnerships with academic, industrial, and vendor ecosystems in India. - Ensure timely documentation of findings, IP generation, and knowledge transfer. - **Innovation & Industry Engagement** - Stay updated on industry trends in OLED, MicroLED, Quantum Dot, and projection systems. - Introduce novel techniques, materials, and processes for competitive advantage. - Represent the R&D team in global reviews and technical strategy discussions. **Qualifications:** - PhD or Master's in Computer Sciences, Electrical Engineering, or Physics. - 10+ years of experience in product development requiring deep knowledge of systems architecture. - Proven track record in a major display OEM or advanced R&D environment. - Strong expertise in electronics, optical systems, mechanical systems, and SW/FW. - Solid understanding of system characterization techniques and product/display performance metrics. - Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing technical teams. - Experience in global R&D, product development, and manufacturing. - Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
