Job Description
As a Financial Controller, your role will involve overseeing the accounting function for retail stores, online channels, and manufacturing units and warehouses. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, monitoring revenue recognition and inventory valuation, and driving month-end closing activities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Financial accounting & reporting
- Overseeing the entire accounting function for retail stores, online channels, and manufacturing unit warehouses.
- Ensuring accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Reviewing and approving all key journal entries, provisions, accruals, and adjustments.
- Monitoring revenue recognition, inventory valuation, and cost of goods sold.
- Month-end / year-end closing
- Driving the month-end closing calendar and coordinating with various departments for data.
- Closing and reconciling all ledgers within defined timelines.
- Preparing monthly management packs with variance analysis.
- AP, AR, and cash control
- Supervising Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.
- Ensuring strong store cash controls and reconciliation.
- Inventory, costing, and manufacturing linkage
- Working with the plant/costing team to ensure accurate BOM and standard costing.
- Overseeing inventory accounting for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
- Conducting periodic stock counts and investigating variances.
- Compliance, controls, and audits
- Implementing and monitoring internal controls across finance processes.
- Supporting audits with timely schedules and reconciliations.
- Ensuring accounting compliance with local regulations and company policies.
- Budgeting, MIS, and business partnering
- Supporting annual budget preparation and re-forecasting.
- Providing profitability views and partnering with various teams for financial evaluation.
- Team leadership & systems
- Leading and mentoring the accounting team.
- Driving improvements in ERP/accounting system usage and process automation.
- Building a culture of accuracy and timeliness in the finance team.
In addition to the key responsibilities outlined above, you may also be required to support the Head of Finance in budget preparation and periodic re-forecasting, manage annual and periodic budgeting, and update all verticals through P&L.
