Job Description
Role Overview:
As a Senior Project Engineer at GPC, you will play a crucial role in leading localization, product transfer, and cost-optimization projects. Your responsibilities will involve managing end-to-end execution to ensure technical feasibility, define assembly concepts, and support smooth production ramp-up and ramp-down. You will work closely with HQ and Global Industrial Engineering teams to drive projects efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive localization and cost-optimization projects in coordination with HQ and Global Industrial Engineering teams using structured project management tools and techniques.
- Support product relocation and transfer projects, including planning and managing ramp-up/ramp-down for series production.
- Analyze the Festo product portfolio to maximize local content and support plant cost-saving and excellence initiatives.
- Develop technology roadmaps to increase in-house value addition in alignment with Corporate Industrial Engineering.
- Collaborate with TEC on new development projects such as PDP, EV, and other innovation programs.
- Work closely with Purchase to evaluate subcontracting and sourcing options, and drive Make-or-Buy strategy discussions.
- Conduct technical feasibility studies, including BOM analysis and understanding manufacturing processes of key components.
- Provide inputs for costing, NPV calculations, and business case evaluations in coordination with cross-functional teams.
- Design assembly line concepts covering layout, space planning, manpower allocation, takt time analysis, and line balancing and oversee implementation with internal equipment and special machine teams.
- Track project milestones as PMO, support creation of project management standards, and maintain required documentation for ISO and TUV audits.
Qualifications Required:
- BE/B.Tech in Mechanical/Industrial/Production Engineering with 8-10 years of experience in handling projects.
- Strong understanding of Traditional and Agile Project Management methodologies; PMP certification (PMI) is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in Project Management tools including Business Case/Fact Sheet, Project Charter, Gantt Charts, Stakeholder Analysis, and Risk Analysis.
- Expertise in MS Project, PowerPoint, Advanced Excel, and Power BI for automation, dashboards, and data visualization.
- Excellent communication skills with experience working on global, cross-functional projects.
- Hands-on experience with SAP S4/HANA, particularly PP and MM modules; SAP Go-Live or Key User experience is a plus.
