As a Senior Database Administrator at Cuculus, your role is crucial in ensuring the efficiency, sustainability, and readiness of utilities through intelligent digital solutions. Your responsibilities will include: - Administering and supporting Oracle 19c databases in RAC and Data Guard environments - Managing PostgreSQL databases 10.x-15.x on on-prem and cloud platforms - Supporting 24x7 production operations with strict SLAs - Performing performance tuning, SQL optimization, and capacity planning - Planning and executing database migrations, upgrades, patching, and DR strategies - Designing, deploying, and managing production-grade Kubernetes clusters - Implementing monitoring, alerting, backup, and recovery strategies - Working closely with cross-functional teams, vendors, and onsite stakeholders To excel in this role, you must have the following skills and qualifications: - Strong expertise in Oracle Database, PostgreSQL, and Kubernetes - Solid Linux administration skills - Experience in managing highly available mission-critical production environments - Ability to handle complex escalations and ensure database reliability, performance, and security - Familiarity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), AWS, and Azure - Hands-on experience with backup, monitoring, and logging tools - Experience with cloud networking, security, and HA architectures Your contributions to the team will include: - Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle high-pressure production issues - Experience working in high-availability and disaster recovery environments - Clear communication and collaboration skills for cross-team coordination - A proactive mindset with attention to performance, security, and reliability - Willingness to support 24x7 operations and participate in on-call rotations It would be advantageous to have experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes Operators, OKE, CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions), and hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
