Job Description
As a Data Analyst at MetLife, you will play a critical role in the data and analytics life cycle, contributing significantly to the development of production-grade data and analytics solutions. Your expertise in analytical skills, SQL, Big Data, and Cloud technologies will be essential in mentoring Data Analysts and solving a wide range of business problems.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Understand business requirements to author functional requirements documents for developing and delivering production-grade data and analytics solutions.
- Analyze data in the context of business processes and functional requirements.
- Provide inputs to data architecture, engineering, governance, modeling, quality, and data science teams.
- Validate data loaded by the engineering team.
- Collaborate with partners from Business, Technology, Operations, and D&A capabilities.
- Mentor Data Analysts.
- Lead design, solutioning, and estimations independently.
**Qualifications Required:**
- 8-10+ years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent educational qualification.
**Technical Skills:**
- Proficiency in SQL, data profiling, data validation, data storage, and retrieval principles.
- Experience with Azure, Hadoop, document databases, and RDMBS databases.
- Knowledge of data warehouses, data marts, and data lakes.
- Strong communication and structured problem-solving skills.
- Domain-based design expertise.
- Mentorship and storytelling skills.
- Experience in partner and stakeholder engagement.
**Good to Have:**
- Familiarity with data modeling tools such as Erwin.
- Knowledge of Databricks and serverless SQL.
- Understanding of Data Governance and Data Quality.
- Exposure to Gen AI technology and tools.
- Domain knowledge in Banking Financial Services and Insurance.
