Job Description
As a Senior Cyber Security Engineer, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding our organization's systems and data against potential threats and vulnerabilities. Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining security measures to protect computer systems, networks, and data.
- Conducting regular security assessments and penetration tests to identify vulnerabilities and evaluate the effectiveness of existing security measures.
- Developing and implementing security policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Monitoring security logs and alerts to detect and respond to security incidents promptly.
- Investigating security breaches and incidents, and devising mitigation strategies to prevent their recurrence.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate security controls into the development lifecycle of applications and infrastructure.
- Staying updated with the latest security threats, technologies, and industry trends, and offering recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Providing guidance and support to junior members of the security team.
- Participating in security audits and compliance assessments, and assisting in remediation efforts as required.
- Serving as a subject matter expert on cybersecurity matters, providing advice and recommendations to senior management.
Qualifications required for this role include:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in cybersecurity roles, focusing on security engineering and operations.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, technologies, and best practices.
- Hands-on experience with security tools and technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, SIEM, antivirus, and endpoint security solutions.
- Experience with vulnerability assessment tools and techniques, as well as penetration testing methodologies.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and frameworks like GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS, NIST, ISO 27001, etc.
Preferred qualifications for the role include relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, GIAC, etc.
