Job Description
Role Overview:
You will be joining The Square Circle Clinic as a full-time Communications Associate based in New Delhi. Your primary responsibility will be to manage and create strategic communication materials, develop communication strategies, write and edit content, coordinate projects, and engage with the media to promote the organization's initiatives effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement long-term and day-to-day communication strategies based on organizational priorities and developments related to the criminal justice system.
- Create and manage an annual roadmap of communication needs, ideate content to generate awareness and engage audiences across various online and offline channels.
- Identify, build, and nurture relationships with external stakeholders to further the organizational vision.
- Conceptualize and coordinate the creation and maintenance of newsletters, blogs, graphics, website content, and social media posts.
- Strategize and undertake collaborations with organizations in related fields.
- Build and manage a national and international media network to amplify The Square Circle Clinic's work and issues surrounding the criminal justice system.
- Coordinate with the administration, research, litigation, and mitigation teams of the organization for seamless flow and exchange of information as necessary.
- Research and collate data for communications strategies.
- Coordinate to drive events and campaign rollouts.
- Research and identify appropriate online and offline platforms and other technical requirements to deliver outputs.
- Identify and liaise with vendors and freelancers.
- Track, monitor, and provide inputs to improve the performance of all communication efforts.
- Any other work that may be necessary to further the aims of The Square Circle Clinic.
Qualifications Required:
- A Masters degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or related field is mandatory.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in public relations/communications/journalism or allied fields is mandatory.
- Demonstrable aptitude in imagining, developing, and executing strategic communication plans.
- Previous experience engaging with issues related to the criminal justice system or access to justice is highly desirable.
- Sophisticated understanding of key social media platforms and relevant strategies.
- Working knowledge of audio-visual editing and design software, and website management.
- Ability to take ownership, have accountability, and work in a collaborative, closely-knit, multi-disciplinary team.
- Skills and previous experience in communications research and strategy, media relations, digital engagement best practices, network management, and event planning and management.
- High proficiency in English and ability to read/write/speak in additional Indian languages will be an advantage.
