Job Description
You will be joining MUFG Global Service Private Limited as a Model Validation Senior Analyst reporting to the Model Validation Manager. Your role will involve conducting independent testing and documenting validation results, analyzing statistical data, assessing model conceptual soundness, evaluating data and assumptions, testing model accuracy, and performing outcomes analysis. Additionally, you will create findings, recommend management action plans, validate remediation activities, assess model changes, establish monitoring metrics, and consult with model owners on effective operational controls. It is essential to work in compliance with the Americas Model Risk Management Policy and Procedure aligned with US regulatory expectations and interact with counterparts in the Americas.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Independent testing and documenting validation results
- Analyzing and interpreting statistical data
- Assessing model conceptual soundness
- Evaluating data and assumptions
- Testing model computational accuracy
- Performing outcomes analysis
- Creating findings, recommending management action plans
- Validating remediation activities
- Assessing model changes
- Establishing appropriate monitoring metrics
- Consulting with model owners on effective operational controls
- Executing activities in compliance with the Americas Model Risk Management Policy and Procedure
- Interacting with counterparts in the Americas to remain aligned with program requirements
**Qualifications Required:**
- 2-6 years of experience, preferably within the financial services industry
- Proven track record of strong technical model development or model validation
- Knowledgeable of model risk management and associated US regulatory requirements
- Excellent verbal/written communication and people management skills
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Business (MBA), Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field (or foreign equivalent degree). Advanced degree preferred
- Proficiency in one or more of the following tools: SAS, Python, R, MATLAB, C, SQL, Visual Basic, Bloomberg
- Academic or industry experience with exposure to the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) are preferred
You will have the opportunity to work with offshore partners and play a crucial role in the enterprise-wide model validation and control function to ensure the continued safety and soundness of models used across the bank.
