Job Description
As a Senior US Accountant, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end accounting processes for US clients. Your expertise in US GAAP, strong analytical skills, and hands-on experience in month-end close, financial reporting, and reconciliations will be crucial for success in this role. Effective communication and client-facing abilities are essential to support stakeholders across different geographies.
Key Responsibilities:
Handle end-to-end accounting for US-based entities/clients, including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and trial balance finalization.
Perform month-end and year-end close processes, including accruals, prepayments, and fixed asset accounting.
Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with US GAAP.
Conduct variance analysis and prepare flux reports.
Manage reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, intercompany balances, and other key accounts.
Assist with audit preparations and provide necessary schedules and documentation to auditors.
Support tax teams with data for tax filings, 1099s, and other compliance requirements.
Maintain documentation for internal controls and support SOX compliance (if applicable).
Communicate directly with US-based clients/stakeholders and respond to queries promptly.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including FP&A, AR/AP, and Payroll.
Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CA Inter, CPA, CMA, or MBA (Finance) preferred.
3 to 5 years of relevant experience in US accounting.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP and accounting principles.
Proficiency in accounting software like QuickBooks, NetSuite, Xero, or similar.
Advanced Excel skills and ability to work with large data sets.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Experience working with US clients or in a US-based accounting role is mandatory.
Nice to Have:
Experience in working with outsourced accounting firms.
Familiarity with tax support documents, sales tax compliance, or payroll accounting.
