Job Description
As a Ruby on Rails Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying new web applications using Ruby on Rails. You will also maintain, enhance, and troubleshoot existing applications while ensuring clean, maintainable, and efficient Ruby code. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Designing, developing, and deploying new web applications using Ruby on Rails.
- Maintaining, enhancing, and troubleshooting existing applications.
- Writing clean, maintainable, and efficient Ruby code.
- Developing and maintaining robust back-end components and APIs.
- Integrating data storage solutions (databases, caching layers, etc.).
- Identifying performance bottlenecks and fixing bugs efficiently.
- Integrating user-facing elements developed by front-end teams.
- Connecting applications with external web services and third-party APIs.
- Ensuring high performance, security, and responsiveness of applications.
- Participating in code reviews and following best development practices.
To qualify for this role, you should have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 1+ years of hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails.
- Strong knowledge of Ruby programming and object-oriented design principles.
- Experience with background job processing tools such as Resque.
- Experience with testing frameworks such as RSpec.
- Proficiency in version control systems including Git, GitHub, SVN, or Mercurial.
- Familiarity with MVC architecture, RESTful APIs, ORM, and mocking frameworks.
- Experience with front-end frameworks such as AngularJS or BackboneJS.
- Good understanding of HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS3.
- Knowledge of server-side templating languages such as Slim and Liquid.
