Job Description
As a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Public Health, you will play a crucial role in ensuring infection control protocols are effectively implemented and maintained in long-term care facilities. Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing, implementing, and monitoring infection control protocols for long-term care facilities
- Conducting regular audits of infection control practices and providing recommendations for improvement
- Collaborating with facility staff to ensure adherence to infection prevention guidelines and best practices
- Investigating infection outbreaks, containing them, and providing prevention recommendations
- Providing training and education to staff on infection control measures and proper hygiene practices
- Reviewing patient data with healthcare teams to identify infection control needs
- Monitoring compliance with state and federal infection control regulations
- Maintaining accurate records of infection control activities, audits, and outcomes
- Staying updated on the latest trends, research, and best practices in infection prevention and public health
Qualifications required for this role include:
- Current RN license in the United States
- 3+ years of experience in public health or infection control, preferably in long-term care settings
- Strong knowledge of infection control practices, regulatory requirements, and guidelines
- Ability to work independently and manage infection control programs remotely
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with healthcare teams
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and infection control software
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to stay organized and manage multiple priorities in a remote setting
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC) or related field
- Experience with remote healthcare management or telehealth
- Familiarity with public health reporting and data analysis
- Bilingual skills (Spanish or other languages) are a plus
