Job Description
As a Manufacturing Process Engineer, your role will involve designing, developing, and optimizing manufacturing processes for both new and existing products. You will work closely with R&D and design teams during product development to ensure manufacturability by implementing DFM/DFA principles. Your responsibilities will include providing day-to-day support to manufacturing operations, resolving process issues efficiently, and monitoring production performance metrics such as yield, cycle time, and OEE to implement necessary improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Select and implement tools, fixtures, equipment, and automation solutions
- Identify and implement lean manufacturing initiatives to reduce waste, cycle time, and cost
- Standardize work instructions and best practices across production lines
- Specify, procure, install, and qualify new machinery, jigs, and fixtures
- Evaluate and implement automation opportunities to enhance productivity
- Maintain preventive maintenance schedules and calibration plans for production equipment
- Participate in design reviews and provide input on manufacturing feasibility
- Drive cost-reduction projects through process innovation and efficiency improvements
- Analyze and reduce scrap, rework, and labor costs
- Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement on the shop floor
Qualifications Required:
- Solid experience in manufacturing process engineering
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
- Proficiency in preparing BOMs, SOPs, PFD, EBOM, MBOM, and torque charts
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including R&D, production, purchasing, and quality
- Experience in driving cost-saving projects and make-vs-buy analysis
- Familiarity with SAP activities related to new models
