Network Engineer

Role Overview: You will be joining ExxonMobil as a Branch System Engineer, where your main responsibility will be to design, build, and maintain internal platforms and infrastructure supporting software development, deployment, engineering, and operations for Branch / Edge IT infrastructure. Your focus will be on automation and observability platforms, which are crucial for Site Reliability Engineering practices. Key Responsibilities: - Infrastructure Reliability: Maintain and optimize network infrastructure for high availability and performance. - Automation Development: Design, implement, and manage automation workflows for tasks like device onboarding and configuration compliance. - Monitoring & Alerting: Develop and integrate monitoring systems to detect anomalies and enforce compliance. - Compliance & Security: Ensure network devices adhere to security and configuration standards. - Continuous Improvement: Analyze operational data to identify automation and reliability enhancement opportunities. Qualifications Required: - University degree in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Network, or related field with technology-related coursework. - Minimum 5 years of experience in network design, deployment, and automation. - Proficient in network automation tools such as Python, Ansible, Terraform. - Experience with version control systems like Git for managing infrastructure-as-code. - Knowledge of observability tools and concepts like SRE, SLO/SLIs, Golden Signals, and familiarity with Datadog preferred. - Strong network knowledge with skills in routing, switching, wireless, and firewall technologies. - Expertise in BGP protocol, routing, network transport technologies, and network management.
