Network and Application Security Engineer

You will be responsible for overseeing the strategy, governance, and operational management of enterprise edge platforms providing various security capabilities such as content delivery, web application firewall (WAF), bot protection, DDoS mitigation, API security, and edge compute. Your role will focus on ensuring high availability, optimizing performance, and protecting digital services at the application layer. - Lead the planning, design, and development of robust security architectures. - Oversee the deployment of network and system security measures in alignment with corporate cybersecurity standards. - Monitor cybersecurity controls across LANs, WANs, VPNs, routers, firewalls, and other network infrastructure components. - Conduct security evaluations of applications and systems through penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and risk analysis. - Configure and deploy firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other critical security technologies. - Apply software patches and updates to remediate vulnerabilities and respond promptly to cybersecurity incidents. Qualifications Required: - Over 7 years of relevant experience in network and application security engineering, with at least 5 years managing enterprise WAF platforms. - Hands-on expertise with bot management, fraud prevention solutions, and analyzing packet captures and application logs. - Minimum of 5 years in cloud security architecture with strong knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP. - Well-versed in cloud-native security guardrails, third-party security tools, cloud networking, and IAM principles. - Solid understanding of application security, cryptographic concepts, and edge security environments like CDNs. - Passionate about cloud security, continuously learning and staying current with modern best practices and emerging technologies. - Ability to thrive in ambiguity, demonstrate strong ownership and urgency, and possess excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. - Cloud security certification such as AWS Security, ISC2 CCSP, or CSA CCSK is strongly preferred.
