Job Description
As a Manager Mechanical Design & Engineering for a Mega International Fertilizer Manufacturer, your role will involve overseeing the mechanical design and engineering function for a large-scale international Fertilizer Plant outside India. You will be responsible for tasks such as leading mechanical design activities, providing project execution support, optimizing plant operations, and ensuring compliance with international engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage mechanical design and engineering activities for plant operations and expansion projects
- Review and approve mechanical drawings, layouts, and technical specifications
- Ensure design compliance with international codes and safety standards
- Coordinate with EPC contractors, consultants, and vendors
- Provide technical guidance for equipment selection (rotating & static equipment)
- Oversee installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting support
- Implement preventive maintenance and reliability improvement strategies
- Manage engineering budgets, timelines, and project deliverables
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers and technicians
Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 10 to 35 years of relevant experience in fertilizer, petrochemical, chemical, or heavy industrial plants
- Strong knowledge of rotating equipment, static equipment, piping systems, and plant utilities
- Experience in fertilizer plant operations (Ammonia / Urea preferred) will be an advantage
- Proven leadership and project management experience
- Familiarity with international standards (ASME, API, ISO, etc.)
