Job Description
As a Mortgage Underwriter in the assigned branch/location, your role involves underwriting mortgage business and managing the portfolio. You will be responsible for reviewing and assessing a broad range of complex loan applications, conducting personal discussions with customers, and maintaining Portfolio MIS, Delinquency MIS, and other related MIS. Your key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing and assessing loan applications within defined guidelines
- Underwriting proposals as per policies and procedures to honor SLAs
- Conducting personal discussions with customers to establish credit worthiness
- Assessing income to obligation ratios and loan to value ratios
- Building effective relationships with third parties
- Taking ownership of client queries and overcoming challenges
- Exceeding service quality standards and striving for continuous improvement
- Undertaking critical review of credit proposals
- Ensuring collateral and credit risk mitigation
- Enabling quick turnaround time of credit lending proposals
- Managing credit underwriting function of the branch
- Facilitating recovery of quick mortality cases
Qualifications required for this role include being a Graduate or Masters/Post Graduate. Certifications such as CA or MBA are preferable. Skills needed for this position include Credit Analysis, Risk Assessment, KYC, Loan Processing, and Mortgage Underwriting. The ideal candidate should have 2 to 6 years of experience in a similar role.
