Lead Python Developer

As a Lead Python Developer for AI agent development, you will be responsible for the design and delivery of Python applications. Your role will involve owning architecture, code quality, performance, and team delivery. You will also be mentoring engineers and driving best practices across cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and others, CI/CD, observability, and agent-oriented AI tooling. Your key responsibilities will include: - Leading a small-to-medium engineering team, planning sprints, prioritizing work, running code reviews, and mentoring and growing engineers. - Designing and implementing scalable, secure, maintainable backend services and APIs in Python using frameworks such as Django, Flask, FastAPI, or equivalent. - Architecting and operating cloud-native systems across AWS and Azure, including compute, container orchestration, serverless, storage, networking, and IAM. - Designing, building, and maintaining AI agents or agentized services with a focus on prompting strategies, orchestration, tool integration, safety/guardrails. - Defining and owning system architecture, microservices boundaries, data flows, and integration patterns with third-party services. - Driving CI/CD, deployment automation, infrastructure-as-code using tools like Terraform, ARM, Bicep, CloudFormation, and release processes. - Ensuring production reliability through monitoring, logging, alerting, incident response, runbooks, and post-mortems. - Optimizing performance, cost, and security of applications and cloud infrastructure. - Collaborating with product, QA, security, data, and ML teams to translate requirements into technical solutions. - Establishing coding standards, testing strategy, and development lifecycle best practices. - Evaluating new technologies and providing technical roadmaps and estimations. To qualify for this role, you should have: - 4+ years of software development experience with at least 2 years in a lead/tech lead role. - Strong expertise in Python and production-grade frameworks such as Django, Flask, FastAPI. - Proven experience building cloud-native applications on AWS and Azure. - Hands-on experience with containers and orchestration, infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, designing RESTful/graph-based APIs, message-driven architectures, and DB design. - Experience with observability tooling and security best practices. - Excellent mentoring, communication, planning, and stakeholder-management skills.
