Lead Backend Developer - (.Net)

As a Lead Backend Engineer at SimCorp, you will play a crucial role in driving technical excellence and leading backend development within your team. You will be involved in all stages of the development lifecycle, including designing, coding, testing, reviewing, and deploying solutions. Your responsibilities will also include mentoring team members and influencing technical strategy. Key Responsibilities: - Apply engineering expertise across all phases of the development lifecycle: requirements review, design, implementation, code reviews, and automated testing. - Collaborate closely with product owners, architects, and stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions. - Establish and continuously improve engineering excellence practices such as coding standards, testing strategies, and CI/CD pipelines. - Lead the development of new backend features and system enhancements using .NET, databases, and Azure technologies. - Ensure code quality through refactoring, automated testing, and peer reviews. - Drive the adoption of best practices in cloud-native development, security, and scalability on Azure. - Research and evaluate tools, frameworks, and approaches to support future innovations. - Collaborate within a scrum team to consistently deliver on sprint commitments and meet the Definition of Done. - Act as a mentor and role model, raising technical capabilities across the engineering team. Qualifications Required: - 7+ years of hands-on experience with .NET technologies (C#, Microsoft .NET). - Proven experience building REST APIs with .NET (OData experience preferred). - Strong working knowledge of Azure cloud services, including Azure App Services, Azure API Management, Azure DevOps, Azure Service Bus, and Event Grid. - Strong database expertise, including proficiency with SQL Server, data modeling, normalization/denormalization, and query optimization. - Proficient understanding of design patterns and principles (OOP, GoF, SOLID). - Strong background in software development practices such as TDD, BDD. - Hands-on experience with peer code reviews, code quality tools, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices. - Proficiency in software testing methodologies and automation frameworks. - Experience with Agile/Scrum environment. - Excellent problem-solving skills and sound architectural decision-making abilities.
