Job Description
As the Head of Corporate Standard Risk Refresh at Barclays, your primary responsibility is to safeguard Barclays Corporate Bank against regulatory and reputational risks related to financial crimes such as anti-terrorism, anti-money laundering, sanctions, and corruption/bribery. You will oversee the control governance in Corporate periodic KYC reviews of Client Due Diligence (CDD) and manage a team of approximately 60 to 100 full-time employees providing KYC Client Maintenance services in the Corporate Banking business.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Ensure compliance with regulatory obligations during Customer Due Diligence checks as part of the KYC process for Corporate Bank.
- Uphold internal standards outlined within the KYC policies managed by Group Compliance across the KYC Client Maintenance Operations teams.
- Lead, develop, and motivate teams handling complex KYC processes to support the UK Corporate Coverage teams.
- Build and maintain relationships with key senior partners in Coverage, Financial Crime Compliance, and broader Operations.
- Drive subject matter expertise contribution across transformational initiatives impacting the control environment and client experience.
- Deliver sustained operational performance meeting regulatory obligations and internal service level agreements.
**Qualifications Required:**
- Minimum 12 years of experience in an AML/Fin Crime or EDD role.
- Strong communication skills, particularly for external communication with regulators and auditors.
- Degree level education supplemented by expertise in Global KYC and CDD.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively, excellent oral and written communication, coaching skills, collaborative approach, and good stakeholder management.
- Ability to innovate and transform operations to adapt to the evolving KYC/AML landscape through digitization and leveraging lean, RPA, and automation while ensuring compliance.
- Strong control awareness with an understanding of key controls in KYC Ops.
- Outstanding leadership qualities and exceptional people management skills.
