Role Overview:
As a Junior Database Administrator, you will be responsible for supporting 24x7 operations within a fast-paced, complex distributed database environment. Your main focus will be on implementing and maintaining scalable, secure, and high-performance database infrastructure to support OLTP and data warehouse systems. Your role is crucial in enabling business growth while ensuring the highest standards of reliability and customer trust.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and support fault-tolerant, highly available, recoverable, and monitored database solutions for peak-event scalability.
- Collaborate to define and implement database security aligned with regulatory standards including SOX, PCI, and ISO.
- Support database migration, design, development, integration, and testing throughout the development life cycle.
- Translate business and system requirements into logical and scalable technical solutions, considering cost, timelines, and strategic direction.
- Work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment, participate in peer reviews, and provide training as needed.
- Perform capacity monitoring, performance tuning, and optimization of database resources.
- Establish and maintain physical database parameters.
- Test, troubleshoot, and correct database issues, refine, and enhance database changes.
- Develop and support data movement strategies and the underlying infrastructure.
- Collaborate with programmers and analysts to implement changes in the database management system.
- Review and correct database-related programs.
Qualification Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Associate degree with relevant experience may be considered.
- 25 years of experience as a Database Administrator.
