Java Backend Engineer, Aladdin Engineering, Analyst

Role Overview: You will be part of BlackRock's Aladdin Engineering group working on the investment operating system Aladdin, which is used by both BlackRock internally and externally by various financial institutions. As a Software Engineer, you will collaborate with team members in a multi-office, multi-country environment to deliver high-efficiency, fault-tolerant software systems for Aladdin's global, multi-asset trading platform. Your role will involve designing and developing innovative solutions to complex problems, ensuring quality through software engineering practices, and contributing to team productivity and efficiency. Key Responsibilities: - Collaborate with team members in a multi-office, multi-country environment. - Deliver high efficiency, high availability, concurrent, and fault-tolerant software systems. - Contribute significantly to the development of Aladdins global, multi-asset trading platform. - Work with product management and business users to define the product roadmap. - Design and develop innovative solutions to complex problems, identifying issues and roadblocks. - Apply validated quality software engineering practices through all development phases. - Ensure resilience and stability through quality code reviews, testing, and production support. - Drive a strong culture of inclusion and diversity within the team. Qualifications: - B.E./ B.TECH./ MCA or any other relevant engineering degree from a reputed university. Skills and Experience: - 1+ years of experience in Java backend technologies. - Proficiency in core Java, OO skills, and design patterns. - Hands-on experience in Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and Hibernate. - Understanding of concurrent programming and designing high throughput, fault-tolerant distributed applications. - Familiarity with message brokers and relational databases. - Experience with engineering tools such as git, maven, unit testing, and integration testing tools. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. - Interest or experience in finance and investment processes. - Knowledge of cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud is a plus. - Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools like Azure DevOps. - Exposure to AI-related projects/products or AI research environments. - Mastery of software engineering principles.
